On the evening of August 5, an early beta test of the game Back 4 Blood, the ideological successor to Left 4 Dead, became available to users. The project is being created by Turtle Rock Studios (formerly Valve South), the authors of the original Left 4 Dead series, released under the wing of Valve and gaining great popularity.
Having played the Back 4 Blood beta, I’m ready to share with you my emotions received during the test.
General mood
The project meets the player with a local survivor camp, more or less nicely equipped for a safe and comfortable stay. Here you can visit the shooting range and practice shooting.
The weapons in the game are varied — from sniper rifles and sawn-off shotguns to axes and clubs with nails.
The graphics are pleasant, the game is well optimized and does not slow down even on relatively older components.
Gameplay
The scenario for any mission, standard for https://mindepositcasino.co.uk/fluffy-favourites-slot/ games of this kind, is to get from point A to point B, along the way collecting ammunition, weapons and coppers (local money to buy equipment), as well as killing bosses.
There are several different survivors (cleaners) to choose from with different skill sets and starting weapons. For each character, it is also proposed to choose several additional skill cards that improve indicators such as stamina or reload speed, or supply the player with a knife as a melee weapon.
The models of the Cleaners and the Possessed are worked out in detail; during the passage of the level, the player and his weapon are gradually smeared in the blood of monsters.
Back 4 Blood also features friendly fire, so during battles with Taken you should pay attention to the location of your allies.
Shooting at the Possessed and destroying them brings pleasure due to the cool animations of death and explosions with which the levels are filled to capacity.
A small disadvantage may seem to be the absence of limbs torn off from the undead when fired from a powerful weapon.
Weapon
The main aspects of any shooter are a lot of blood and the presence of good weapons. Back 4 Blood is doing well with the first component, but what about the second??
Weapon models, from machetes to a huge assortment of pistols and machine guns, are well designed and detailed, the sounds of shots are pleasant and not boring.
Reloading animations are also pleasing to the eye, everything is neat and clear.
IMHO, Cleaners handle weapons extremely professionally, although they have not undergone such training. It would be nice to see hitches when using weapons, like in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019).
Throwable weapons are not as varied as firearms, but their use is also nicely implemented.
Conclusion
So far, it seems that Back 4 Blood is the long-awaited third part of Left 4 Dead, which has not lost the excitement of its ancestors, in which it is still fun to spend time with friends, smashing monsters to pieces.
