Strange things are happening to PC games. After years of hard drives costing less than dirt, hard drive space is suddenly running low again. And it’s not that they have become more expensive (Although they have risen in price, thanks to last year’s flood in Thailand), it’s all because of SSD drives. They are extremely fast and therefore recommended for gaming PCs, but they are not very spacious. Meanwhile, games are getting bigger and bigger, and you’re lucky if you can fit them on your SSD. Here are 10 games that will eat up the most space on your hard drive.
10. Star wars: The old republic — 19.8GB
“Judging by the graphics, this game shouldn’t take up much space,” you’ll say when you see it for the first time. It looks good, but it doesn’t scream "HD textures" like other games in this top. instead it contains a bunch of audio files with over 200,000 lines of dialogue. Even when compressed they take up a lot of space.
9. Total War: Shogun 2 — 20.2GB
The Total War series has never taken up enough space. Napoleon took the bar at 20 gigabytes, Empire weighed more than 16 gigabytes. It’s not difficult to explain where the whole place went — 10,000 little samurai won’t be covered with textures themselves. (You might think that everyone is hand-painted — approx. translator). And if you also install modifications (and this is worth doing), then the space on your hard drive will disappear even faster.
8. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier — 25GB
When you play on PC you always have a lot of problems. Having to upgrade, sometimes reinstall Windows, and deal with huge installation files while your console jumps right into the game. Well it’s nice to see the butthurt when Ghost recon future solder installs 6.3 GB on PS 3. Yes, this is not a 25 Gb installation on a PC, but console players can’t just add another 3TB drive
7. Rage — 25GB
Id Software’s and John Carmack have always pushed gaming technology forward., and their projects always justified the place they occupied. A new feature in their engine was called "Virtual texture". This technique allows you to load only part of a huge texture into memory, instead of loading the entire texture at once. and since the size of RAM is not as limited as before, we can use textures measuring 128000 x 128000 pixels. Result? Great graphics and abnormal hard drive size.
6. TERA — 25GB
There are several MMOs in this top, https://agentnowagercasino.co.uk but as far as we can tell, TERA is the largest Korean MMO, which requires 25 GB of disk space and another 25 will be needed during installation. By the way, TERA has absurdly highly detailed character textures and even more detailed boss models. We’d say 25Gb is well spent.
5. Age of Conan — 26GB (at launch, 31GB after expansions)
Age of Conan was supposed to be a World of Warcraft killer, with more realistic graphics, larger areas and brutal gameplay. Needless to say, it didn’t work out, but Funcom achieved some of its goals, including high-quality graphics [not clear here]. HD textures along with voiced quests allow the four-year-old game to occupy a place near the top of our top
4. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition — 30GB
There are good reasons for a PC port to take up more space than the console version. High quality textures, for high resolution monitors, for huge gaming cards. There are also bad ones, like: “We didn’t use legacy data compression when porting the game from a huge Blu-ray disc from the PS3.” If you don’t understand where we’re going with this, let’s face it: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has no adequate reason to take up 30 GB.
3. The Secret World — 30.8GB
The first MMO to exceed the size of Age of Conan at launch. The Secret World — Funcom’s follow-up to Age of Conan. And again we see the attraction of Norwegian developers to highly detailed images and voiced quests.
2. Max Payne 3 — 35GB
When you’re dealing with Rockstar there’s no surprise in the big size. After all, the developer is known for its open world games and tons of things to find and explore. Stop though. Max Payne 3 has none of this. This is a completely scripted and linear action game. So why? According to Kevin Hoare, the lead developer, it’s all about scalability. Game textures are 4 times larger than on consoles, and audio files are not as highly compressed, all so that the game runs well on a wide variety of personal computers
1. X-Plane 9 — 70GB
Winner!(loser) of our top thickest X-plane games, but by calling it a game we’re asking for trouble. A huge community prefers the term "Simulator", and X-plane is truly a simulator. In fact — if you choose a full installation, then the entire earth will become your playground — every valley or ridge. The cost of the height map turned out to be high — get ready to say goodbye to more than 70 GB of hard drive.

What? The man didn’t know which option to write, so he wrote both?

Ololololol, a reason for another fight between console and PC? Judging by this statement, this article was written with one purpose — to prove the true greatness of consoles over the pathetic PC
Conclusion: I don’t want to participate in this. Bye
Here’s what I found about X-plane
*More than 18,000 airports.
*The X-Plane landscape is the whole world, the entire planet Earth between 60 degrees south latitude and 74 degrees north latitude. The project also includes flights over the Martian expanses.
*Weather varies from clear skies and high visibility to thunderstorms with varying wind speeds and turbulence. Real weather conditions can be downloaded via the Internet, allowing you to fly in actual weather conditions that exist at that moment.
*For added thrill, there is a detailed "failure model" of 35 systems that can randomly fail when you least expect it.
*Includes: Plane-Maker (allows you to create your own planes), World-Maker (for creating your own landscapes) and Weather Briefer (to receive a weather briefing before your flight if you use real weather conditions downloaded online).
